Proceed To CheckoutA wonderfully showy plant and a real talking point when in flower. Many sprays of exceptionally lovely silky purple-pink large flowers stand above blue-green rubbery rosettes throughout the summer. They are fast growing and have a long flowering season and with luck will self-seed on a scree.
The flower stems and buds are fascinating in themselves, looking as they do like snake heads.
From Chile in South America and there are differing reports about their hardiness, but we have not had any trouble with them over the winter here.
Drought tolerant when established, slug resistant and as tough as old boots.
