Beautiful blooms which open orange-red fading to yellow with age. Like bricks in an old wall, the colour can be various shades of terracotta, from light orange to dark, almost red.
Very attractive to pollinators, particularly hoverflies and bees.
The plants spread slowly into sizeable clumps in the border, without becoming invasive. Rightly awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
It's a good choice for growing in cottage and wildlife garden schemes.
