Rarely seen in this country, this plant from the clover family bears greenish-white flowers above clumps of pea-like leaves. The plant blooms through much of the summer and which yield beanlike fruits within pods that rattle when dry.
Native to North America and Canada, it grows in a wide range of habitats, from wet meadows to dry prairies.
