Batchelor's Buttons

Batchelor's Buttons

This is the beautiful native Cornflower, also called Batchelor's Buttons, which traditionally grew in meadows and verges across the country but is now sadly fairly rare due to modern farming methods and land use.

It's easy to grow in the garden, in a wildflower meadow, wildlife area or in a bed or border. Cornflowers enjoy a well-drained soil in full sun.

It is loved by bees and other pollinators and makes an excellent cut flower.
