Pink Perennial Wallflower

Pink Perennial Wallflower

'Night Skies' is a beautiful and unusual pink perennial wallflower whose peachy-pink flowers gradually darken purple as they age. The blooms have a strong scent and bees love them.

It's a nice compact form which flowers for weeks on end from early spring to early summer, sometimes and sometimes over winter too.

Erysimum are fast growing and happy in any sunny spot, provided the soil isn't boggy. They tolerate very dry soil once they are established. They are very hardy and last for several years.

In the 12th century, Troubadours would wear a sprig of wallflower to signify that their love survive time and misfortune. It is said that this is as a result of seeing the plant growing on the ruins of fallen towers, the rather romantic image of beauty and fragrance amongst desolation.
