Winter Aconites produce a bright display of golden yellow buttercup-like flowers, surrounded by divided leafy bracts, from February to April. An efficient ground cover plant, it quickly spreads and makes a dramatic yellow carpet just as the first snowdrops begin to bloom. It’s perfect for planting beneath trees or naturalising in grass.
Combine with snowdrops and fritillaries for a wonderful effect. Can also be planted in containers. Dies back underground to tubers over summer and shoots again the following winter.
Only available for a short period in late winter, you are buying ten 'in the green bulbs' for the price stated above. Add 2 to the basket to buy 20 bulbs and so on. 'In the green' means that you are buying bulbs which are shooting and/or have leaves (which is the most reliable means of transplanting Winter Aconites).
