Semi-double white flowers on tall stems in June and July. Delphiniums enjoy a rich soil and are best staked against wind damage.
One of the Pacific Hybrid series from California in the 1950's and 60's. Often called Pacific Giants because they grow so tall.
Delphiniums have been grown in Britain for several centuries, but the tall border varieties first became popular in the 19th century. The plant takes its name from the Greek word for a dolphin, because the flowers are said to resemble a dolphins head.
