The white form of Hesperis matronalis. Deliciously scented in the evening, hence the name from the Greek 'hesperos' meaning evening.
Grown in cottage gardens since the 16th century, it flowers from June to August and seeds itself freely. It'll grow anywhere in sun or partial shade. It's very attractive to bees and other pollinators and is a good cut-flower, lasting a week in the vase.
