Returning Plants

Please read this page carefully to ensure that we receive the plants in an acceptable condition which will allow us to process a refund.

Orders placed online are covered by the Consumer Contract Regulations. Please note that plants are counted as perishable under these regulations and are therefore not included in your right to return them simply because you changed your mind. We may accept plants back for a refund if you don't want them, but we will only do this if you have contacted us first and we have agreed that we will do this.

All our plants are checked before dispatch by two different members of staff who have over 60 years of horticultural experience between them, so we are confident that all the plants which leave us are healthy.

Occasionally, plants may look a bit rough after transit, but that does not mean that they will not prosper and do well with the usual care needed when planting new plants. No plant sent miles through the courier system is going to look as good when you open the box as a plant picked off a nursery shelf.

Plants are resilient and soon 'come back' from a little damage. Obviously, it is possible for a plant to be damaged beyond hope and in this situation we will process a refund. However, in our experience of sending out many thousands of orders, this has occured only a handful of times.

How to return plants:

To return plants, they should be packaged in the original packaging and, if possible, box. It is your responsibility to ensure that the plants arrive in an acceptable condition. We will not issue a full refund if the plants arrive damaged due to bad packing.

Please ensure that you obtain proof of postage and/or a tracking number so that you can chase up Royal Mail/Courier if the parcel gets lost. For parcels under 2kg, the Royal Mail small parcel service is your cheapest option. Parcel Force can be used for larger parcels.

Please ensure that your order number is included in the box so that we can find your details.

This is the only address the plants can be sent to. Do not send them to the nursery address.
