An excellent and easy to grow plant, full of colour. Rosettes of green leaves grow in walls, between rocks, in gravel or containers and send up masses of pink or orange, occasionally white, flowers on 20cm stems in spring and summer.
In the wild their habitat varies from clinging to rocks, growing in gravel, popping up in meadows and growing happily in desert conditions.
Awarded the RHS Award for Garden Merit.
Very drought resistant when established. Excellent for rockeries, gravel gardens, containers etc. Fully hardy but they don't like it too wet in winter, so plant in well-drained soil.
Height and Spread: 20cm x 20cm
Common names: Siskiyou lewisia; Cliff Maids
Synonym: Lewisia cotyledon 'Elise'
