Drought tolerant once established. Perfect for a container or the herb bed.
The foliage can add flavour to cakes and fruit concoctions. Excellent in cool summer drinks or cocktails.

The word Salvia comes from salvere, to save. The Romans called culinary Sage "herba sacra", and it was also highly valued by the Chinese as it was thought to prolong life. The Greeks and the Romans thought it banished melancholy. The Chinese imported sage tea from western Europe at five times the price we paid for their tea.
