The lovely double-flowered form of Houttuynia. The flowers are orange scented. A very good ground cover plant with pretty white flowers from June to September.
Happy in very wet and boggy soil all the way up to very dry soil. Probably more prolific in moist soil. Works well in a container too. Suitable for planting in pond/stream margins.
A herb with an aromatic smell which has apparently long been used in Asia to treat pneumonia, hypertension, constipation, and hyperglycemia via detoxification, reduction of heat and diuretic action.
