An excellent ground cover, which will smother weeds quite happily. Attractive, deeply veined leaves with paler undersides and clusters of small pink bell flowers from July to September.
Good for cutting.
Tall branching stems are a mass of pink heather-like flowers all late summer and autumn. The leaves are greyish and beautiful in themselves, being heavily veined.
A vigorous grower that is happy in a wide range of soils and situations, including wet soil. Can cope with dry shade once established.
From the Himalayas in the nineteenth century but naturalised in the UK.
