Happy in sun or shade as long as the soil isn't too dry, this really is a very easy and rewarding plant to grow.
The name Monkey Flower comes from the Latin Mimus, meaning mimic or actor because the flowers resembled a mask. All Mimulus prefer moist soil and shelter from strong winds. The musks mysteriously lost their scent at the beginning of the 20th century - if you discover yours has a scent, please let us know!
