Verbascum nigrum is one of the most reliable and long-flowering varieties of mullein.
This native plant can be found on dry, stony hillsides and open woodlands, but plants are well-adapted to cottage, gravel, and rock gardens, or naturalised areas. Verbascum nigrum will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions but must have good drainage.
Height: 90cm
Common name: Dark mullein
Please note that Verbascums often develop brown or purple spots/splotches on their leaves in summer, particularly when it is dry. This is not a problem and does not affect the growth of the plant.
