These short Evening Primrose have narrow leaves with a satiny sheen and large lemon-yellow flowers throughout the summer. Flowers open in the morning and evening but close in bright sunlight. Plant in light shade if you don't want the flowers to close during the day. The flowers can be up to 10-12cm in width.
Loves dry soil and is drought tolerant when established.
Height and spread: 20cm x 50cm
Brought to the UK in 1811 from the Missouri basin.
Common names: Ozark Sundrops; Prairie Evening Primrose; Missouri Primrose; Bigfruit Evening Primrose.
