A magnificent plant with dark brown, almost black flowers, scented strongly of chocolate, in mid and late summer. Ideal for the patio or near a house door so you can enjoy the scent.
Loves a hot sunny position and needs protection from severe frost. We grow ours at home in a large pot and move it into an unheated greenhouse over winter.
Introduced from Mexico in 1835. Related to the Dahlia.
