A rarely seen, lovely white form of this attention grabbing hardy perennial from South Africa. Long flowering and great for adding interest to a mixed border. large white flowers with yellow centres above thistle-like silver-grey deeply lobed foliage.
Like thistles, the foliage has spines, making it very prickly, which is good for preventing pests eating it.
Drought tolerant. Hardy in all but the most severe winters.
Flowers from late spring into and through summer. Absolutely loved by bees.
Long-lived.
Height and spread: 60cm x 30cm
Common name(s): Silver Thistle; Silver Berkheyha
