Golden-green scented foliage and cascading clusters of pink flowers that bloom in the heart of summer and are loved by bees. A worthy addition to a herb bed, rockery or container.
Thyme has been a favourite herb for centuries, valued for its culinary merit and curative properties. It believed that fairies lived in banks of Thyme and sprigs were burnt as offerings to gods. Many of the Thymes come from the Mediterranean region, but all are hardy provided they have a well-drained soil (or container).
Thyme is very robust and is often planted between paving, in or over walls and in rock gardens.
