A dainty little alpine which will grow in most areas of the garden. Shallow rooting, it forms a creeping mat and will grow in cracks between rocks or slabs or in a container or gravel garden etc. Lovely sky-blue flowers in spring and summer and often through to autumn. Vigorous but not invasive.
It can be used as a grass substitute or grown in a lawn among the grass to add interest when it flowers.
Pratia prefers semi-shade but will grow in full shade and appears to be happy in full sun too. It copes well with dry soil when fully established.
