These three herbs have been chosen for their strong citrus scent. Perfect for the herb garden or container, they can all be used in the kitchen in salads, dishes and drinks, and they are perfect for anyone creating a sensory garden.
The three plants are:
Lemon Verbena - Quite simply the best lemon scented foliage we have ever smelt! The foliage of this aromatic perennial herb has a wonderful zesty lemon scent which can be used in drinks, ice cream and any dishes where you want to add a hint of lemon. It's even used in pot pourri.
Orange Thyme - When crushed, bruised, or cooked, the foliage releases a distinct balsamic-orange scent. Also often used in pot-pourri.
Lime Mint - Probably our favourite mint. The leaves of this mint smell and taste strongly of lime (with a minty twist) and make a wonderful tea, or can be added to iced drinks. Also useful in fish and chicken dishes.
All are loved by our native pollinators.
